FILMING |
Audience [AUD] |
A bootleg which is filmed by a concert-goer with a single camera. |
Pro Shot [PRO] |
A bootleg which is filmed professionally by cameramen mostly with multiple cameras. |
Stage-Shot |
An audience bootleg which has filmed the stage. Not the big screen. |
Screen-Shot |
An audience bootleg which has filmed the big screen. Not the stage. |
GENERATION |
Master |
The original cassette that the show is filmed with. Or the disc transfered from Master. |
1st Gen |
A copy from the Master cassette to another cassette. |
2nd Gen |
A copy from the 1st Gen cassette to another cassette. |
3rd Gen |
A copy from the 2nd Gen cassette to another cassette. This procedure goes like this. |
Low Gen |
Used when the quality is good, but the Gen is not known exactly. Worse than a 1st Gen. |
Mid Gen |
Used when the quality is average. May not be easy to find out the number of copy. |
High Gen |
Used when the quality is really bad. Hard to find out the number of copy. |
Source |
Each different bootleg from the same show filmed by the audience or professionally. 1st Source, 2nd, 3rd, etc. |
AUDIO |
Audience |
The original audio in an Audience-Shot bootleg. |
SoundBoard [SBD] |
It is a quality recording made using a deck plugged into the output of the soundboard. |
LiveMet [LM] |
This term is used for the official audio recorded at the mix tower in Metallica shows. |
Lossy |
The compressed and low-quality form of audio. Common formats are .mp3, .wma |
Lossless |
The uncompressed form of audio. No quality loss. Common formats are .wav, .flac |
TRADE |
Snail Mail |
Sending via Standard Mail. Called "snail" as it takes pretty long to arrive. |
Online Trade |
Traders use FTP or similar programs to exchange the shows via internet. |
B&P |
The abbreviation of Blanks and Postage. Sending blank media and posting price for the other trader to burn the show(s) and send back to you. |
Vine |
A chain of trading in which a volunteer trader sends a show or more to another trader and he/she to another until all the traders on the predefined list get the show(s). |
